Presentation of Les Républicains

Les Républicains (The Republicans, LR) is a liberal-conservative political party in France. The party was formed in 2015 as the refoundation of the Union for a Popular Movement (UMP), which had been established in 2002 under the leadership of the then-president of France, Jacques Chirac.
Président Sarkozy wanted to change the name of the party to showcase the reunification of the disparate political views, from social Gaullism to the right line, into one political family.

In meetings, the French tricolore is the main flag observed. Sometimes tricolores with the gaullist emblem of Free France, the Cross of Lorraine (of various sizes and colours, blue or red) can be observed. No flag with the party logo observed.

Nota: a similar flag with a balck cross of Lorrain was observed in 2012 in use by young Gaullits of UMP.
